Remember what I said about Mars bars and Maltesers earlier in the week
Mars bars get veggie status back
Mars bars get veggie status back
The move affected Masterfoods' chocolate and ice cream bars |
The firm had said it would change the whey used in some of its products from a vegetarian source to one with traces of the animal enzyme, rennet.
The Vegetarian Society organised a campaign against the move, asking members to voice their concerns to parent company Masterfoods.
Mars said it became "very clear, very quickly" that it had made a mistake.
In just one week, more than 6,000 people bombarded the company, which produces the Mars, Snickers, Maltesers and Galaxy brands, with phone and e-mail complaints.
Forty MPs also signed a petition to voice their opposition.
BRILLIANT!

It's brilliant news - I only wish Mars were respondng out of a sense of decency and respect for their customer's wishes rather than out of fear of losing a huge chunk of their annual revenue!
I agree.
If it wasn't planned then ASDA moved fast as I have discovered in the last few days that they are now selling their own versions of Mars bars etc which are vegetarian, cheaper and taste the same.
Yet another reason to sink my teeth into a candy bar.
The funny thing is that I may go 6 months without eating a chocolate bar! But Beauty and the girls love chocolate.
I have a theory, ASDA ordinary mild cheddar cheese is vegetarian, if a company makes it's main product in one area vegetarian then surely more people would buy it.Surely that is cost effective.
Don't get me wrong, I love the taste of meat, steak and bacon are wonderful, my 16 year old even says that I cannot be a true vegetarian if I still desire meat!
It is 7.15am and I fancy a Clark's pie, that's what abstinence from meat does(and pregnancy but that is not happening)gives you odd desires!
