  1. I don't believe you or shallow and you shouldn't feel guilty. Sometimes you just need time away from autism. I have a 5yr old son who was dx with PDD at 2 1/2yrs...and since then my life seems to be consumed with autism. So it is a good thing when we can just take a break from it.
    God bless you! :)

  2. Beauty was first diagnosed when she was 9 months old by a consultant paediatrician and it was confirmed by a professor who specialised in autism when she was just over 2 so it seems like we have always known about her problems and so we have had time to adjust. I think a diagnosis of autism is a bit like mourning in the sense that you go through many stages . At the moment Beauty is progressing VERY WELL so we all feel good about everything so our life is as 'normal' as you can get it but I think problems will hit again at puberty.Something to look forward to I suppose!!
